Jim Lin-Chi Chu has dedicated his time to the advancement of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community by assisting APA business owners in securing government services, gaining political influence and establishing commercial organizations. His significant contributions to minority owned business and community initiatives have been recognized by various institutions and organizations including the most prestigious U.S. President’s Call to Service Award and President Obama’s Volunteer Service Award. 

On May 8, 2010, the National Ethnic Coalition of Organization awarded Jim Lin-Chi Chu with an Ellis Island Medal of Honor at their 24th Session. This organization was started in 1986, the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. This award is especially prestigious because the Medal of Honor is given only to those that have shown incredible contributions as an immigrant.
